Coffie lauds Avram Grant

Al Merreikh midfielder, Francis Coffie has praised under-fire  Black Stars coach Avram Grant after revealing his intention to widen his scouting tentacles to players plying their trade on the African Continent.

The former Chelsea boss has been hugely criticized about how he does his monitoring to call-up players into the national team. Grant himself admitted ahead of the Mozambique game that he does not monitor any Ghanaian player on the African continent insisting that he is not happy about the situation.

However, he indicated that he would be opening up his monitoring system to cover other players who do not play in Europe.

Speaking to Kumasi-based Bohye FM, the former Asante Kotoko and Ashanti Gold winger expressed his delight about Grant’s comments, noting that it would be an honour to him as well as his family to don the colours of the Ghana.

‘’I think he has done well by stating that he would be scouting players plying their trade on the African continent to join the Black Stars,

‘’In fact, I was very happy when I heard it because it’s always good to play for your national team. I think my family too will be happy if I’m called to play for the national team.’’

Coffie has been consistent with the Sudanese team since joining them three seasons ago.
