GPL: Asante Kotoko resolve bonus problems

The Management of Asante Kotoko has mutually settled issues surrounding discrepancies in winning bonuses for players in a meeting at its secretariat Thursday, the club has announced.

The Kotoko management, at the beginning of the season, announced that players will earn an amount of 400 and 600 cedis for home and away matches respectively but it emerged the improved bonus did not cover retained players but is only enjoyed by players who joined the club this season.

According to a report on the Kotoko website, the issue which had sought to create problems within the team has been resolved.

“The two parties in the end nicely agreed on the initial bonus structure, which had sort to create a problem. Nothing therefore changes. The retained players will take 300 cedis each for home win while the newly recruited players receive 400 cedis. For away win, the new players will have 600 but the retained players will receive 400 cedis,” the report read.

Asante Kotoko have picked only one victory from five matches played and currently lie 11th on the league table. They travel to face Aduana Stars in a match day six encounter at the Dormaa Park on Sunday.
