CAF CC: Medeama confident of victory over Ahly Shendi

Medeama say they are in high spirits to edge out Ahly Shendi in their CAF Confederation Cup second leg at the Essipong Sports Stadium on Wednesday.

The Tarkwa-based club settled for a goalless stalemate in the first leg away to their Sudanese opponents. The Mauves and Yellows who have exited the MTN FA Cup are eager to advance and go as far as the group stage of the interclub competition.

“The fact that we had a goalless draw game does not mean it is a walkover. Ahli Shendi is a fantastic team so we have to make sure they don’t score but we rather score. With determination, we can qualify. We don’t have to concede but score and the technical team is seriously working on the players to make sure we execute the agenda and execute it well” Medeama’s Communications team official, Benjamin Kesse told Footy-Ghana.com.

On the morale of the playing body, Ben Kesse who doubles as the administrative manager of the side was vocal disclosing the players are poised for action and are ready to deliver for the club.

“The players are highly spirited and whatever that we have to do, we are addressing them one by one. The qualification is non-negotiable, we need to qualify by any professional and scientific way” Kesse mentioned.

The two time Ghana FA Cup winners last recorded a 2-0 win at home to advance 2-1 on aggregate over Al Ittihad in the round of 32 and hope to qualify to the next stage of the Confederations Cup ahead of their Sudanese opponents.
