‘Hearts were unlucky’ – Kenichi

Hearts of Oak continued their impressive run in the Ghana Premier League with a barren stalemate against struggling Ebusua Dwarfs at the Robert Mensah Stadium on Sunday.

The Phobians had secured two straight wins in the three-week old Premier League-they defeated New Edubiase 1-0 at Accra before recording a 2-0 away victory over MTN FA Cup winners Medeama-before the draw.

Dwarfs, who exhibited good performance in the Division One which saw them gain promotion to the top-flight had lost all their two games and are yet to even score a goal in the league.

Head coach of Hearts of Oak, Kenichi Yatsushashi says his side was unlucky against the Cape Coast-based club on the afternoon. He tells the media after the game that he was satisfied with his players output on the field and that he hopes they improve upon that in their next game.

‘’I think we played well as we did in our last game (against Medeama). The only difference is that we were a bit unlucky to score a goal.

‘’We will continue with what we have been doing which is improving every day. We don’t change direction but I think we are on the right track,’’  he said.

The Japanese American trainer bemoaned the nature of the Robert Mensah Stadium stating that it affect his game plan.

‘’Our focus is the next game so we will try and do our best for the next game.

‘’I think tactics are determined by the pitch conditions and it’s not a good pitch so we could play only one way and I think they did well.’’

Hearts of Oak now occupy 2nd position on the league log. They will play as hosts to Inter Allies in the match day 3 fixtures at the Accra Sports Stadium.
