GPL PREVIEW: Will Coach JE Sarpong resign?

Two weeks have passed on in the Ghana Premier League and we are zooming in for action in Match day 3 where there will be premier league games across eight (8) centres in the country; among them is the Robert Mensah Stadium between Ebusua Dwarfs and Accra Hearts of Oak.

Dwarfs will be going into this game after two defeats against fellow debutants Dreams FC in match day one in Cape Coast and an away defeat to Bekwai based New Edubiase and coach of the Mysterious club has categorically stated he will be thinking twice about his future with the club after they lose this game.

Accra Hearts of Oak, however, have had an impressive start to the league season getting a historic win over Medeama SC at the T&A Park.

Much is yet to be seen of the exploits of Bright Lukman who was the Goal King of the 2014/15 GN Bank Division One League as he is yet to register a goal in the top flight but his mate Romeo Agban will be returning to play this weekend against his former club.

Accra Hearts of Oak will be without Eric Kumi who attracted an unnecessary red card after taking off his shirt in jubilation when he got a second goal for the Phobians against Medeama and as such will be on suspension.

Meanwhile Samudeen Ibrahim who suffered an injury in the team’s opening league fixture against New Edubiase has been training with the club so as Goalkeeper Soulama Adoulaye and will be available for selection when they visit the Robert Mensah Stadium.

Experienced Referee William Agbovi will be the man at the centre of the game and will be assited on the sidelines by Tetteh Effah and Alex Anning with Timothy Obuobisa as the 4th referee.

Hearts of Oak expect to continue their impressive winning ways while the job of Coach JE Sarpong might be hanging on the results of the game and if history is anything to go by then the experienced trainer will be keeping his job.

Ebusua Dwarfs have won 7 games out 14 played from 1999 as against 4 wins for the Accra side with 3 ending in a draw but the former are yet to win a game against the latter in their last three games.
