Duncan labels Kwame Boahen a diver

Asante Kotoko coach David Duncan has launched a scathing attack on Medeama SC’s Kwame Boahen by labeling the skillful attacker a diver.

Duncan was seen engaging in exchanges with the midfielder during Kotoko’s 2-2 draw with the Mauves and Yellow on Sunday.

Asked at a press conference on Tuesday what the confrontation was about, Duncan said:

“I told him he dives too much and told him to cut down on the antics. He’s a fantastic player but the diving won’t take him anywhere.”

Boahen had an impressive afternoon and dominated the middle of the park alongside teammate Malik Akowuah to lead Medeama to their first point of the season.

Asked if Boahen took his advice, Duncan said:

“Well he didn’t say anything back so I assumed he took it in good faith.”

Footy-GHANA.com also understands that the former Liberty Professionals midfielder was the subject of a banter within the members of the technical bench of Medeama. Head coach Tom Strand had made moves to substitute Boahen during the first half but was stopped by technical director Evans Adotey. The  confusion led to Strand deciding to abandon duties in the second half – an action he is presently facing charges for by the club’s management.
