Coach Abu blames City defeat to lack of travelling exposure

Head Coach of Techiman City, Yusif Abubakar believes their match day four loss to Liberty Professionals was down to a lack of travelling exposure on the part of his boys.

Techiman City has suffered a second away loss in the on-going 2015/16 Ghana Premier League to the Scientific Soccer Lads courtesy a headed goal by midfield whizkid Latif Blessing.

City had vowed to avoid successive away defeats after previously losing 2-4 to Sekondi Hasaacas on match day 2. Try they did but eventually bowed as they got pipped by Latif Blessing’s effort in the second half.

“The previous matches that we played and won were difficult. So it been a headache for me using some players who have never played outside Techiman, especially down at Greater Accra. It’s always a problem.

“It was really a difficult game. Some of them [players], this is their first time playing here in Greater Accra, so it has not been easy but I hope we will cope with that,” Coach Abu said after the match.

Yusif also touched on failed strategy and lack of cohesion at the defence.

“We strategized not to concede a goal. It’s either we score or they don’t. Fortunately for us, we were able to finish the first half without conceding a goal.

“As we came back, we also wanted to push forward this time but we were not able to deal with the aerial balls and that was the mistake that came our way. There were rarely some lose markings at the back. In fact, it has not been good at all.”

Techiman City occupy 8th position on the league log with six points. They host Dreams FC in battle of new entrants at the Nana Ameyaw Park on match day five.
