2016 U-17 WWC Qualifiers: Black Maidens host Morocco Saturday

The Black Maidens will host their Moroccan counterparts in the return leg of the U 17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday. 

The team has moved camping base from the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence and afterwards moved to Accra and are lodging at the Osu Marriset Hotel.

According to schedule, the Moroccans will on Friday train from 3pm to 4pm while the Maidens will also have their last training at the Accra Sports Stadium immediately afterwards.

The coach Evans Adotey girls are in pole position to qualify for their fifth outing at the U-17 World Cup which will be hosted by Jordan later in the year after beating the Moroccans 4-0 in the first leg.

Ghana holds the record of the best performance in a FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup. The Black Maidens remains the only African side–to date–to reach the semi-finals of the Women’s U-17 World Cup. They lost to France in the semi-finals of the 2012 edition but went ahead to beat Germany 1-0 in the third-place match.

The Black Maidens host Morocco at 3pm on Saturday.
