The Ghana Football Association has announced that the 2015/2016 National Women’s League will commence on March 19.
Hasaacas Ladies have won the National Women’s League for a historic third time after beating Ampem Darkoa Ladies by a lone goal in the Championship play-off in December.

Three teams from the Northern Zone (Chiewia Ladies, Northern Ladies FC, Subayo Ladies) and three from the Southern Zone (Halifax Ladies,Samaria Ladies,Bafana Ladies) qualified to join the National Women’s League this season after participating in the 2016 Zonal Women’s Championship.
Chiewia Ladies in particular, who will play the league as Real Upper Ladies, made history by becoming the first club from the Upper West Region to qualify for the National Women’s League. Real Upper Ladies are based in Tumu.
The national women’s league is divided into two zones: Northern Zone and Southern Zone with each zone made of six teams who play a league format. At the end of the season, the top teams from each zone will then play a one-off championship final to select the league champion.
