Techiman City will be competitive – Micky Charles

President of Techiman City FC, Charles Kwadwo Ntim “Micky Charles” has insisted that the Techiman-based club will not be pushovers in the 2015/2016 premier league season.

According to the tough-talking administrator, City have made quality signings that will make them competitive in the league.

Techiman City will go ahead to play in the league after applying for a stay of execution following their demotion to division two for reportedly engaging in match fixing.

“Techiman City are not coming to add up to the numbers. Don’t forget that when we played in division one, we won about 15 matches without losing a game. It tells you that we are going to do something similar in the premier league,” Micky Charles said.

Techiman City’s qualification to the premier division has been overshadowed by issues of match fixing but that did not stop City from going ahead with recruitment.

Along with their young enterprising players, Techiman City have brought on experienced players including former Kotoko and B.A. United striker Stephen Manu, former Berekum Chelsea midfielder Samuel Kyere and Iddrisu Yahaya from New Edubiase FC.

Charles has revealed City intend to make their home grounds an impenetrable fortress.

“We will make the Ameyaw Park a lion’s den. We are not going to make it easy for anyone who comes to Techiman. But that doesn’t mean we won’t matches away from home as well,” Charles concluded.

City will open their premier league season with a home encounter against Berekum Chelsea at the Nana Ameyaw Park in Techiman before a difficult trip to Sekondi to face Hasaacas.
