New Edubiase Stadium ready for construction – Prez. Mahama

President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has revealed the construction of the New Edubiase Sports Stadium in Bekwai is gearing up.

The President made this known during the 2016 State of the Nations Address in Parliament house on Thursday, 25th of February 2016.

The Bekwai based club late 2014 adopted the Len Clay Sports Stadium in Obuasi as their home venue after the Bekwai Park was passed unfit to host Premier League games.

Last year, Ex Youth and Sports Minister, Dr. Mustapha Ahmed cut sod for the construction of the new stadium in the area to serve as home venue for the club.

President Mahama in his speech indicated that, “The Cape Coast Stadium has been completed and I shall have the honour of commissioning soon, we have also completed the drawings and bills of quantities for the construction of the New Edubiase Stadium and I am sure Honourable Yankah will be very happy about this”.

This means Abdul Salam Yakubu and his lads will be playing their home games at their favourite Bekwai home grounds upon completion of the stadium project.
