GPL: Kotoko-AshGold clash moved to March 9

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has moved the Week 2 fixture between Asante Kotoko and AshantiGold at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to March 9, 2016.

The game originally slated for February 28 has been rescheduled due to AshantiGold’s CAF Champions League return encounter against M.O Bejaia. The Miners are set to leave the country on Thursday to play the Algerian side at the Stade de l’Unité Maghrébine in Béjaïa.

The game between Kotoko and Medeama on March 6 however remains unchanged.

AshantiGold are travelling to Algeria with a 1-0 advantage over the Algerian outfit.

This new twist frees Kotoko of any engagement this weekend as they seek to have a number of players recover fully from injury and available for the season’s campaign.

Kotoko lost 0-2 on match day 1 of the 2015/2016 Premier League to WAFA at Sogakope and will be looking forward to record their first win of the new season against AshantiGold in the home fixture.
