GPL: Akunnor anticipates stiff Bechem challenge

Dreams FC head coach, Charles Kwablah Akunnor is anticipating a stiff challenge from Bechem United in their second Premier League game on Sunday.

Akunnor led his newly promoted side to beat Ebusua Dwarfs 1-0 in their debut Premier League opener at the Robert Mensah Sports Stadium last weekend, whilst Bechem United scored two past Liberty Professionals at the Nana Gyeabour Park

The former Black Stars captain mentions that their first home game would be difficult because he doesn’t have much knowledge about his opponents. He is however confident that they would secure win if his players make less mistakes on the afternoon.

‘’For Dwarfs we watched some their friendly games so it gave us an idea about how they play. Bechem is a different story, for them we’ve not seen but heard it. So we have gathered the necessary information about them so we prepared for the game,’’

‘’I see Bechem’s match as a very tough match, a team that has won their first match, so they also have the necessary confidence that they need. This is our first game at our home grounds. We want to win just like they want to win. I think if we are able to make less mistakes we will win the game,’’ Akunnor told TV3.

The Kweiman-based outfit opted to play their home games at Dawu, and they have since refurbished the abandoned Park which used to be the home grounds of Dawu Youngsters fifteen years ago.

Akunnor stated that he is satisfied with the pitch so far.

‘’I’m very much satisfied. I think the guy who is care of the grass has done very well. I believe that within the next two weeks there will be an improvement. When we played Hearts in a friendly it wasn’t good like this, we believe that it will be far better in the coming weeks.’’

Kick-off is at 3pm with match tickets selling at: VVIP – GHc 15.00; Presidential Wing – GHc 10.00; VIP – GHc 5.00 and Popular Stand – GHc 3.00.
