SLOW DOWN: Prof Mintah advises Premier clubs on pre-season

Professor J.K Mintah has advised Premier Clubs in Ghana to slow down on their pre-season preparations for the new season.

The national team (Black Stars) psychologist and former coach of Ebusua Dwarfs has told clubs who have started serious preparations towards the 2015/2016 season to slow down their plans as a result of the uncertainty over the commencement of a new campaign.

Prof. Mintah believes a prolonged pre-season can affect the condition and performance of players as they may be already worn-out by the start of the season. He made this assertion when speaking to Asempa FM.

“All the clubs to play in the upcoming league must stop their pre-season because no one knows when the Premier League will start,” he said.

“If they are not careful, their players will exceed their peak before the league finally starts. If I could advise, I would ask them to slow down,” Prof Mintah concluded.

The Ghana Football Association have cases between Techiman City and Wa African United as well as another involving Tema Youth and Dreams FC to settle before the new season can begin.
