TWIN SIGNING: AshGold reach deal for Nuhu brothers

Ghanaian champions, AshantiGold, have sealed an agreement for the Nuhu twin brothers from New Edubiase United, footy-Ghana.com can exclusively reveal.

The Miners, after losing out on top target Kennedy Ashia to Sudan’s Al Hilal, have settled on a double swoop on Adansi rivals Edubiase for 26-year-old siblings Fuseini and Alhassan Nuhu who shared 17 league goals between them during the 2014/15 First Capital Plus Premier League.

Fuseini, the elder of the twin brothers is a forward who scored 13 of the goals that helped Edubiase beat the drop on the final day of the past season while Alhassan plays as a defensive midfield.

Footy-Ghana sources have confirmed that “Edubiase have chosen to accept AshantiGold’s offer for the duo despite interests from other clubs like Hearts of Oak and Aduana Stars.”

When contacted by footy-Ghana.com, spokesperson for AshantiGold, Kofi Yawson also shortly said; “Yes, we have reached a deal for the Nuhu brothers from Edubiase. They would be having their medicals next week.”

The pair boast of immense experience in the Ghana topflight having featured for Real Sportive (in the then Ghana Telecom Premier League) before moving on to sign and help Edubiase win promotion to the 2008/09 Ghana Premier League. In 2011, they were transferred to Moldovan giants FC Sheriff Tiraspol but reverted to the Bekwai club two seasons ago.

The deal when completed, increases the number of AshGold’s new signings to four players. Hudu Yakubu and Dauda Mohammed are already in the camp of the Miners who have resumed camp for pre-season.

The Miners are keen on further strengthening their squad ahead of the 2015/16 football season where they will be competing in three major competitions – the FCPPL, MTN FA Cup and the Caf Champions League.
