Stephen Adams ditches ‘slow’ Hearts, signs two-year extension with Aduana

Goalkeeper Stephen Adams has decided to stick with Aduana Stars despite holding talks with Accra Hearts of Oak, footy-Ghana.com has confirmed.

The experienced shot-stopper has long been on the radar of the Phobians and in recent days, had appeared to be finally landing their man.

But footy-Ghana can confirm that the chance to sign Adams has slipped through the hands of Hearts of Oak who appeared ‘slow’ in their dealings with the 26-year-old.

The Ghana national team stopper who had been out of contract has made a u-turn and extended his stay with the Aduana Stars by two more years.

“Adams admitted that Hearts spoke with him but he thought it was delaying so he took steps to extend his contract with Aduana,” CEO Albert Commey confirmed.

“Now we have two years contract with him. He should be in Dormaa training with the club soon,” he added.

The former Real Sportive goalie has been with Aduana Stars since their promotion to the Ghana Premier League in 2009.

Adams joins a growing list of transfer targets that Hearts of Oak have failed to sign so far this off season. The Phobians recently lost out on the race for Edwin Tuffour Frimpong and Ernest Sowah to arch-rivals Asante Kotoko.
