Hearts boosted by return of fit-again quartet for pre-season

Accra Hearts of Oak have welcomed back-from-injury quartet Ashitey Ollenu, Selasi Adjei, Hamza Fuseini, and Maxwell Boakye to pre-season training.

The four players picked up various degrees of injuries in the 2014/15 First Capital Plus Season which affected their output for the club.

Hamza Fuseini missed the whole of last season after dislocating his shoulder on the eve of the league opener with West African Football Academy. The utility player has fully recovered from the injury and has joined his colleagues for pre-season training.

Selasi Adjei was also troubled by a knee problem which he aggravated after netting the opener in the 4-0 trouncing of his former club Heart of Lions at the Robert Mensah Sports Stadium in match-day 23 of the First Capital Plus Premier League season. The hardworking striker did not feature for the club again after the injury despite several attempts to return to the fold. But he has completely shaken off the injury and is back to full training.

Also, Ashitey Ollenu’s season was punctuated by a niggling thigh injury which took its toll and forced the exciting star to miss a big chunk of the team’s continental and domestic travails in the 2014/15 season.

However, the mercurial winger looks sharp in training and will be hoping to impress the new technical team ahead of the coming season. Youngster Maxwell Boakye also had his season curtailed by an ankle injury which he picked up in a 2-0 defeat in Wa in match-day 18.

The youngster was just nailing a position in the team after his splendid performance in the Accra derby which he helped the team to win by a lone goal over Accra Great Olympics. But the injury saw him sidelined for close to three months.

He has also recovered from the injury and has joined the team in pre-season. Team Hearts have been exercising at the Accra Beach in pre-season.
