Antagonistic Nii Lantey is history – Nyantakyi

President of the Ghana Football Association Kwasi Nyantakyi has stated that his outfit’s sordid relationship with the Sports Ministry will be a story of the past following a change in the country’s government.

Speaking to pressmen, the Ghana FA boss revealed that it was the Hon. Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, the Sports Minister who was unfriendly towards the country’s football governing body and as he leaves office in the weeks ahead, the FA will leave the poor relationship in the past.

Nyantakyi indicated the Minister’s hostile attitude was not understandable yet it did not affect the activities of the Football Association in any way.

“We were cool. It was like turbulence on the high seas but it didn’t affect those of us who were in the ship. We were very cool. I don’t think that you saw any difficulty in our work, we were doing our work. The Minister was antagonistic to us but we were not,” he said.

“I don’t know why he did that but now he belongs to history. Let’s forget about him and do our work,” Nyantakyi concluded.

Hon. Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye is to leave post by January 6, 2017 as Sports Minister and with a new government taking over the governance of the country a new minister is expected to be named.
