Bibiani GoldStars were thwarted in their quest for a fifth consecutive home victory, settling for a 0-0 draw against ten-man Dreams FC at Dun’s Park on Sunday.
Dreams FC, sitting at the bottom of the league standings, entered the match determined to secure at least a point. The visitors managed to keep Gold Stars scoreless in the first half, despite being reduced to ten men after Richmond Tetteh received a red card in the 30th minute.
After the break, Gold Stars sought to capitalize on their numerical advantage, maintaining possession and launching several attacks. However, Dreams displayed commendable resilience, successfully defending against the onslaught and preventing the Miners from extending their lead at the top of the league standings.
With this result, Gold Stars maintain their three-point lead, now sitting on 19 points after Asante Kotoko suffered a loss at home to Heart of Lions.
Meanwhile, the hard-earned point allows Dreams FC to climb to 17th place, though they risk dropping back to the bottom if Legon Cities secures a win or draw in their upcoming match.
Gold Stars remain the only unbeaten team in the top flight this season and will next face debutants Young Apostles. Dreams FC will host Medeama as they continue their search for their first win of the campaign.
