Antoine Semenyo continued his fine start to the 2024/25 Premier League season in Bournemouth’s win against Manchester City on Saturday.
The Cherries produced a satisfactory 2-1 triumph against the title holders at the Vitality Stadium in matchday 10 of the English top-flight.
Semenyo broke the deadlock in the 9th minute with Milos Kerkez creating a delightful cross.
The Black Stars forward connected to Kerkez’s low drive into the City goal area, giving Bournemouth the early lead they needed to destruct City’s plans for the first half.
Brazilian winger Evanilson made it 2-0 in the 64th minute and City scored in the 82nd minute through Josko Gvardiol.
With eight minutes away from recording their fourth win in the league, Andoni Iraola’s side held on to bag their first victory against Man City since gaining promotion into the top-flight.
Semenyo’s goal is his fourth of the league and his fifth goal involvement in the ten matches played.
Up next for the 24-year-old is the away game at Brentford.
