Isaac Afful has been consistent and deserves Black Stars call-up – Samartex gaffer Nurudeen Amadu

FC Samartex coach, Nurudeen Amadu, has expressed his thoughts on defender Isaac Afful’s recent call-up to the Black Stars.

Afful is one of two Ghana Premier League players selected by coach Otto Addo for the 25-man squad set to face Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Samartex left-back has been playing in the 2024/25 Caf Champions League and suffered elimination in the last group stage qualifier against Raja Casablanca.

“It shows we’ve been doing something right. His hard work and consistency in training have paid off, and we’re all rooting for him. We wish him the best, and the entire club is behind him,” the coach stated.

Amadu also expressed his hope that Afful’s time with the national team could pave the way for a move to Europe.

“We hope this opens doors for him to secure a European contract because he deserves it. We wish him all the best.
