Afcon 2025Q: AZ Alkmaar’s Ibrahim Sadiq joins Black Stars squad for Sudan game

AZ Alkmaar forward Ibrahim Sadiq has been called up to the Ghana national team for their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Sudan.

The Black Stars will face Sudan in a two-legged encounter during the international break.

The Ghanaian team has already commenced training in Accra, with head coach Otto Addo overseeing his first session, which featured 11 players.

Sadiq, who has been in impressive form for his club this season with four goals and three assists in eight appearances across all competitions, is expected to provide a boost to the Black Stars’ attacking options.

The first leg of the qualifier will take place on Thursday, 10 October, at the Accra Sports Stadium, where Ghana will play host to Sudan.

The return fixture is scheduled for Tuesday, 15 October, in Libya.

Ghana will be aiming to secure their place in the upcoming AFCON tournament, and Sadiq’s strong performances for AZ Alkmaar could play a crucial role in their qualification hopes.
