Hearts of Oak coach Aboubakar Ouattara highlights Salim Adams chance in Aduana draw

Hearts of Oak coach, Aboubakar Ouattara has attributed Salim Adams’ miss in the dying minutes of their game against Aduana to fitness problems.

The Phobians ended their match-week five game of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League in a goalless draw at the University of Ghana Stadium on Friday night.

This is Hearts’ second draw of the season, after their game against Nations FC last Sunday.

Salim Adams, introduced as a 68th-minute substitute for Asamoah Boateng, failed to capitalize on a clear goal-scoring chance, denying Hearts the win.

At his post-match reaction, Ouattara expressed concerns about Adams’s physical conditioning, stating Salim’s fitness was short of fitness which hindered his ability to execute the task assigned to him.

“He has played this role several times, but because of the pressure he put on himself before the match, he underperformed.

“When I saw that the Aduana defense was tired, I thought Salim’s substitution would make the difference, but when he came on, he looked more tired than the player he replaced,” Ouattara noted

Hearts of Oak sit 14th on the table with 5 points after five rounds of games. Next, they travel to face Young Apostles.
