Abdul Mumin’s super strike nominated for La Liga Goal of the Month award

Ghanaian defender Abdul Mumin has been shortlisted for the La Liga Goal of the Month award for September, following his standout display for Rayo Vallecano.

Mumin, a Black Stars centre-back, earned the nomination for his spectacular goal in Rayo Vallecano’s 3-1 win over Osasuna earlier this month.

His strike, a powerful effort from outside the box, was pivotal in securing the victory and saw him named Man of the Match.

The 25-year-old will be up against Osasuna’s Raul Garcia and UD Las Palmas’ Sandro Ramirez, who are also in contention for the award after scoring impressive goals in September.

Mumin has quickly established himself as a key figure in Rayo Vallecano’s defence, earning a starting role and delivering solid performances throughout the season.

His goal against Osasuna has further boosted his profile, drawing praise from both fans and analysts.

In addition to his club success, Mumin remains a regular in the Black Stars setup, underlining his growing importance at both club and international levels.

Remarkably, Mumin is the second Ghanaian to be recognised in La Liga this month, joining Athletic Bilbao’s Inaki Williams, who has been nominated for the Player of the Month award for September.
