Ghana Premier League champions, FC Samartex, have been eliminated from the CAF Champions League following a 2-0 defeat to Morocco’s Raja Casablanca in the second leg of their tie.
The result in Casablanca saw Samartex bow out of the competition with a 4-2 aggregate loss, having drawn the first leg 2-2 at home.
Marouane Zila and Naoufel Zerhouni bagged the two goals for the Morrocan giants.
Raja Casablanca’s victory secures their spot in the next round, while Samartex’s debut campaign in Africa’s premier club competition comes to an early end.
Despite the disappointment, Samartex can take pride in their domestic success, as they now shift focus back to defending their league title.
