Patrick Kpozo extends stay at Banik Ostrava to 2026

Czechia side Banik Ostrava have announced the contract extension of Ghanaian defender Patrick Kpozo until the end of the 2025/2026 season.

The 27-year-old has become an integral part of coach Pavel Hapal’s squad, earning praise for his consistent performances since joining the team last year.

Kpozo, who has already made 22 appearances in European competitions, including Champions League qualifiers, further solidified his reputation last season by starting 33 league matches.

His contributions on both ends of the pitch were vital, as he registered three goals and four assists, showcasing his versatility as a left-back.

In the 2024/25 campaign, Kpozo has bagged  four league starts and four appearances in cup competitions.

His impressive form led to the club’s decision to extend his stay, a move welcomed by Banik Ostrava’s sports director Ludek Miklosko.

“We are please with Kpozo’s consistency and contentment at the club. These are key factors in the new agreement and we trust in his quality to continue to help the club.

“Banik Ostrava is happy to extend the deal and we know he is loved by the fans and everyone at the club.”

Patrick Kpozo will be looking for a spot in Ghana’s squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan in October.

The left-back has three international caps for Ghana.
