Ghanaian defender Abdul Mumin scored in Rayo Vallecano’s 3-1 victory over Osasuna on Monday night and is crediting his belief in God for the great start to life in Spanish football.
Mumin’s powerful strike from a tight angle played a key role in breaking Rayo’s recent poor form at the Estadio de Vallecas.

Rayo Vallecano capitalized on Mumin’s goal, with Andrei Ratiu and Unai Lopez adding two more strikes to seal the win.
Reflecting on his performance, Mumin expressed gratitude and praised his teammates. “I’m a firm believer in God, so the first thing I’ll say is I thank God,” he said.
“The whole team showed a lot of determination and effort, so credit goes to the team. Very good goal. We have an unbelievable coach and staff who always help us to keep pushing.”
Despite a recent error with the Ghana national team during their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola, Mumin’s strong performance against Osasuna underlines his growing influence at Rayo Vallecano, a club known for its fight to remain in La Liga.
