Afcon 2025Q: Ghana coach Otto Addo has plans on Angola’s long ball threat

Ghana coach Otto Addo says his outfit will address the long ball threat of Angola in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

The men’s senior national team play the Sable Antelopes at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Thursday in pursuit of a victory to kick-start the qualification proccess for Morocco 2025.

At the press conference ahead of the encounter, Otto highlighted the quality of the Angolans but was quick to assert his side’s eagerness ss in curtailing the threats.

“We had problems with that (conceding from long balls). For me, it’s not particularly easy to work particularly on that because we just had three days of training so it’s not that easy.

“It’s more about technical things in general, individual tactics which we have to improve and we addressed it and I’m convinced this won’t happen again,” Addo stated.

With the absence of Alexander Djiku, the central defensive pair might be Abdul Mumin and Mohammed Salisu.

In terms of options, Otto might opt for a back three of Jerome Opoku, Salisu and Mumin as well.
