We need to start right and play proactively against Angola – Otto Addo

Ghana coach Otto Addo spoke ahead of his side’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations(AFCON) qualifier against Angola.

The Black Stars face the Palancas Negras at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Thursday September 5, 2024 in hopes of commencing their Afcon campaign on a bright note.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Addo asserted the necessity for a triumph against Angola in their first game.

“I think its important to start our qualifying series with a win tomorrow, we have the boys in camp.

“Angola are a top side and we need to be cautious and proactive in attack and defence.

Otto Addo continued as he highlighted the readiness of two players who arrived on Wednesday afternoon.

“The doctors are cheking on Jordan Ayew and Elisha Owusu. I hope they will be okay especially with Elisha who has some muscle problems.

“After training, the doctor will talk to them and see how they are feeling. So there is a little bit of question mark to be honest but hope it will be okay especially on Elisha.”

Ghana plays Angola at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Thursday 16:00 GMT.
