Ghana’s Jalal Abdullai prolongs IF Elfsborg stay until 2028

IF Elfsborg has extended the contract of Ghanaian striker Jalal Abdullai, keeping him at the club until 2028, the Swedish top-flight side announced on Monday.

The 19-year-old, who joined Elfsborg from Inter Allies FC in Ghana in the summer of 2023, has quickly made his mark in the Allsvenskan, scoring 12 goals and providing one assist in 36 competitive appearances since his debut against Kalmar FF last July.

“During his first year with us, Jalal has shown tremendous talent and potential for the future,” said club manager Stefan Andreasson.

“Therefore, it feels good to already be able to convey that we have extended his current contract until the 2028 season.”

Jalal initially trained with Elfsborg’s U-19 team before earning a spot in the senior squad due to his impressive performances. His new contract is a testament to his development and importance to the team’s future ambitions.
