FC Barcelona has officially signed 18-year-old left-back David Oduro on loan from Accra Lions.
The young Ghanaian talent will join the prestigious La Masia Academy, with the potential to make the move permanent next summer.
Oduro’s transfer marks a historic moment, as he becomes the first player to transition directly from a Ghanaian club to FC Barcelona.
The agreement was finalized after Oduro impressed during a trial with the Catalan club.
Before settling on Barcelona, Oduro had also attracted interest from several European giants.
He previously underwent trials with Premier League powerhouse Chelsea in January 2024 and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich earlier this year.
Real Sociedad and Shakhtar Donetsk were also keen on signing the promising left-back.
Known for his speed and skill, Oduro has drawn comparisons to Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies.
Despite not yet completing a full Ghana Premier League season with Accra Lions, his talent has already made waves across Europe, leading to this landmark move to Barcelona.
