Jordan Ayew scores in Leicester’s EFL Cup triumph over Tranmere

Jordan Ayew delivered a standout performance as Leicester City cruised to a 4-0 victory against Tranmere Rovers in their EFL Cup clash at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday evening.

The Ghanaian forward, who was making just his second appearance for the Foxes, marked the occasion with his debut goal for the club. Ayew, 32, also provided a crucial assist, playing a pivotal role in Leicester’s dominant display.

Ayew, who joined Leicester from Crystal Palace during the summer, was handed his first start by manager Steve Cooper. The experienced striker repaid Cooper’s faith with a powerful goal that set the tone for the match.

Shortly after the break, Ayew turned provider, setting up Wilfried Ndidi for Leicester’s third goal. Stephy Mavididi and Harry Winks also found the back of the net as the Premier League side secured a comprehensive win.

Abdul Fatawu Issahaku also made a late appearance, coming on to replace Kasey MacAteer, while Ayew himself was substituted in the 72nd minute after an impressive showing.

Having left Crystal Palace after six years, Ayew signed a two-year deal with Leicester this summer, and his performance against Tranmere suggests he is settling in well with his new club.
