2024/25 Caf CL: Nurudeen Amadu highlights Samartex resilience in Victoria United triumph

FC Samartex coach Nurudeen Amadu, has expressed his satisfaction following his team’s narrow 1-0 victory over Victoria United in the second leg of the CAF Champions League qualifiers.

The decisive match, held at the Accra Sports Stadium, saw Samartex secure their spot in the next round with an early goal from Isaac Afful in the 8th minute.

In a post-match interview, Coach Amadu acknowledged the tough nature of the game, noting that his team was well-prepared for the challenge posed by their opponents.

“We anticipated a tough contest. This is how they played there and we expected a tough performance from them.

“The lads showed resilience and determination required to achieve the win. It was a difficult game, but what is important is that we have won.”

Nurudeen Amadu also highlighted the lack of more information on his opponents due to having their request for video footage for the first leg denied.

“We had only what i jotted after the first leg and a few key moments to prepare for the second leg because they denied us from having videos for our analysis.

“And you could see our problems in the game. But we had a lof of focus and eagerness to qualify ”

With a 2-0 aggregate victory over Victoria United, Samartex now looks forward to their second-round clash against Moroccan giants Raja Club Athletic.

The team continues its pursuit of a coveted spot in the CAF Champions League group stage.
