Semenyo shines with assist, named Bournemouth’s Man of the Match against Newcastle

Ghana international Antoine Semenyo continues to prove his worth in the 2024/25 English Premier League, providing a crucial assist that helped AFC Bournemouth secure a 1-1 draw against Newcastle United on Sunday.

This assist is Semenyo’s first of the season, following his goal in Bournemouth’s opener last weekend.

His performance was so impressive that fans voted him as the club’s Man of the Match, a testament to his growing influence in the team.

The 24-year-old forward’s contributions are timely, as he is expected to be a key attacking option for Black Stars head coach Otto Addo when he announces the squad for Ghana’s upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifiers.

The matches against Angola and Niger, set for September 5 in Kumasi and September 9 in Berkane, Morocco, are crucial for Ghana’s campaign.

With Semenyo in fine form, having a goal and an assist in his first two matches of the 2024/25 EPL season, Ghanaian fans will be eagerly anticipating his impact on the national team as they embark on their Afcon qualification journey.
