REPORTS: Abdul Samed Salis attracts interest from Montpellier and Brest

RC Lens midfielder Abdul Samed Salis is reportedly attracting interest from fellow French Ligue 1 clubs Montpellier and Stade Brest as the summer transfer window approaches its final weeks.

The Ghanaian international, who has been with Lens since 2022, has recently been demoted to the reserves, fueling speculation about his future with the club.

According to French sources, Montpellier and Brest have both expressed interest in securing the services of the 24-year-old midfielder.

Salis, known for his role as a deep-lying midfielder, was instrumental in helping Lens secure UEFA Champions League qualification in his debut season.

However, after a challenging season that saw him struggle for form, his position at the club has come under scrutiny.

Despite signing a contract extension with a reported salary increase, Salis has found himself on the fringes of the first team, leading to his recent exclusion from the squad for Lens’ Ligue 1 opener against Angers.

Lens’ manager, Will Still, cited the need to “trim the group” for the well-being of the team, further indicating that the club is open to a potential transfer.

With interest from Montpellier and Brest, the Black Stars midfielder could soon find a new home in Ligue 1 as he looks to reignite his career.

As a defensive midfielder, Salis has played 72 games for Lens, and have bagged one goal.
