2024 U-20 WWC: Black Princesses begin final World Cup preps in Bogota

Ghana’s Black Princesses have kicked off the final phase of their preparations for the 2024 Fifa U-20 Women’s World Cup with their first training session in Bogota.

Under the guidance of head coach Yusif Basigi, the team arrived in Colombia on Wednesday, over two weeks ahead of the tournament’s kickoff.

The Black Princesses quickly got to work at the Estadio Compensar, focusing on tactical strategies, physical conditioning, and team cohesion.

“We’re excited to be here in Colombia and start our preparations for the World Cup,” said Basigi.

“The girls are looking sharp, and we’re confident that we can make a strong impact in the tournament.”

The Black Princesses will face Austria in their opening match on September 2, followed by games against Japan and New Zealand in Group E.

The team is determined to advance beyond the group stage for the first time.

“We’re ready for the challenge,” said captain Afi Amenyeku.

“We’ve been preparing for months, and we’re united in our goal to make Ghana proud.”

The 2024 Fifa U-20 Women’s World Cup runs from August 31 to September 22 in Colombia, with the Black Princesses set to take on Austria in their first match on September 2.
