Official: Hearts to step up pre-season in Togo

Accra Hearts of Oak are set to intensify their pre-season preparations ahead of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season with a training camp in neighbouring Togo.

This will follow a week-long team bonding session in Asutuare, where the squad will undergo additional training to prepare for the challenges ahead.

In a club notice Wednesday, Hearts management outlined that after their training in Asutuare, “the squad will head to Lome, Togo. There, they’ll engage in friendly matches to fine-tune their skills and teamwork.”

The Phobians, coming off a difficult season where they narrowly avoided relegation, have seen significant changes to their roster.

Several players were offloaded, and the club has confirmed the signings of Asamoah Boateng, Michael Akowuah Mensah, Samuel Amofa, and Benjamin Asare.

Additional recruits, including Mawuli Wayo, Yahaya Abderamane, Kwabena Boateng, and former Kotoko left-back Patrick Asmah, have been training with the team and are expected to be officially announced soon.

Hearts of Oak’s first official match of the new season is set for September 7, 2024, against Baseke Holy Stars.

The club urged its followers to “continue to offer their unflinching support” as they aim to turn their fortunes around.
