Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko will participate in the 2024 Capital City Africa Cup, facing Major League Soccer (MLS) side DC United in Washington DC this October.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has sanctioned the high-profile international friendly, set for Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Audi Field.
The match is part of Ghana Week DC 2024, an event organized by the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) in collaboration with the GFA to celebrate Ghanaian culture in the U.S. capital.
Asante Kotoko, one of Ghana’s most storied clubs, will compete against DC United at Audi Field, a modern soccer-specific stadium located in Buzzard Point, Southwest Washington D.C.
This will mark the second instance of a Ghana Premier League club playing an MLS team in the U.S., following Medeama SC’s 2-1 loss to DC United in October 2023.
Ghana Week DC 2024 will be held from October 7-12, showcasing various cultural and sporting events.
