Samartex coach Nurudeen Amadu hopes for quicker integration from new signings

FC Samartex Head coach Nurudeen Amadu is concerned about the integration of the club’s new signings ahead of the 2024/25 football season.

The Ghana Premier League holders are preparing for the Caf Champions League and their GPL title defence but the departure of some key players might affect the strength of the squad.

Emmanuel Keyekeh, recently named Best Player in the Ghana League at the Ghana Football Awards, has joined Singida Black Stars.

Also, midfield stalwart Seidu Dauda Yussif has left for Rwandan club APR FC.

However, Samartex has recruited several new players, including Lord Adabo and Baba Kushibo, and Alhassan Mankuyeli from RTU, to fill the gaps for the campaign.

Despite these additions, Amadu seems worried about how quickly the new signings will get tuned to their new environment and integrate with the existing squad.

“We have lost some very key players. You can talk about Evans Owusu through injury, Daudu Seidu Yussif to APR, and then Keyekeh, who were very, very instrumental in our qualification,” the gaffer told Joy Sports.

“We have made some new signings, but one thing is signing the players and another is whether they will be able to adapt easily to team play.”

Amadu expressed hope that the new recruits will adjust to the new environment, tactical requirements, and team dynamics in time for their upcoming fixtures.

FC Samartex’s first and second leg matches against Victoria United in the first preliminary round of the CAF Champions League are set for August 16 and 25, 2024.

The Timber Giants will travel to Cameroon for the first leg before returning to Samreboi for the second leg
