The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has fined Real Tamale United FC (RTU FC) GHc100,000 for actions undermining the sport’s integrity, in line with Section 34(6)(d) of the GFA Premier League Regulations.
RTU FC officials involved in the incident have been banned from all football-related activities for one year, effective immediately.
The Disciplinary Committee found that during a Matchday 28 game against Dreams FC at the Theatre of Dreams, RTU FC intentionally deceived match officials by fielding unregistered players in place of their registered team members.
The Tamale-based side eventually lost the game 5-1 at the Dawu Theatre of Dreams.
While the match was being played, Lord Hillary Adabo and captain Baba Kushibo granted interviews, revealing the impersonation acts by their club’s top heriarchy due to unpaid salary complains.

RTU FC admitted guilt and sought leniency, citing the refusal of their registered players to travel as the reason for their actions.
Both players have now left for Ghana Premier League champions FC Samartex.
