Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey is expected to part ways with Arsenal Football Club after the 2023/24 season.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the defensive midfielder will be looking for moves as the Gunners have targeted Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz and Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad.
“Thomas [Partey] will leave. Arsenal has several players [targets] lined up, so there is a good chance they will bring in a new midfielder,” he said on the JD Football Show.
In the just-ended Premier League season, Partey had an injury-plagued campaign, appearing only fourteen times for the Gunners in the Premier League. Of those 14 appearances, he started nine of them.
Thomas Partey joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020 after the club activated his £45 million release clause. He has so far scored five goals in 95 appearances for the Gunners.
