Hearts of Oak look comic when I watch their games now – Charles Allotey

Former Hearts of Oak player Charles Allotey has criticised the team’s players for the abysmal performances in their recent games.

The Phobians have endured an extremely torrid 2023/24 season, lying 12th in the league standings and failing to even qualify for the quarterfinals of the FA Cup.

In their recent encounter, Hearts got outplayed and defeated by Aduana Stars 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

A defeat Allotey, in an interview with Akoma FM, asserts that it sums up their unperturbed attitude for the final part of the season.

“The players are not serious at all, a player like Linda, who is performing well, finds it difficult to locate his attackers in the final third, and Salifu has been playing poorly lately.

“They act as if there is nothing at stake. It’s repulsive to watch them play. Hearts of Oak is now like trash because the players playing do not meet the club standard.

“When I watch them play, I laugh. This has got nothing to do with the coach, the players need to change.

“They don’t display with the same passion and commitment that we muster each time playing in order to compete for the badge.”

Hearts of Oak’s next clash is the big game against Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
