Ghana U-20 men’s national team shared the spoils with Congo after a goalless scoreline in the 2023 African Games on Friday afternoon.
The Black Satellites failed to convert the few opportunities in the encounter and now have to focus on their two group stage games to qualify for the next stage.
Coach Desmond Offei’s charges held the bigger share of possession but upfront, they struggled to surpass the Congolese defence for the opener.
The gaffer’s lineup had Jerry Afriyie operating from the flanks and skipper Ofori Maccarthy leading the defence.

Ghana’s dominance in the first half was unproductive and after the break the Satellites struggled to break the deadlock.
Aziz Musbau’s effort from long range in the 80th minute could only rattle the Congolese crossbar.
Not even the introduction of Samartex attacker Micheal Ephson resulted in a difference on the match result.
A disappointing result but they have got two games to redeem themselves against Benin and Gambia.
Ghana’s next game, which is against Gambia is scheduled for Tuesday, March 11 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
