BACK IN THE MIX: Black Queens of Ghana qualify for 2024 Women’s Afcon

The Black Queens have booked their spot in the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after beating Namibia 3-2 on aggregate.

Ghana lost 1-0 to Namibia in the second leg at the Lucas Moripe Stadium but qualify due to the 3-1 first leg victory in Accra.

The national women’s senior team returns to the flagship womenโ€™s tourney after missing out in 2022.

Nora Hauptle’s side joins Algeria, Morocco and South Africa as the teams to have qualified for the competition so far.

The 1-0 defeat from Namibia is the team’s first since Hauptle took over from Mercy Tagoe as Ghana coach.

The 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations will be played in Morocco.
