2024 U-20 WWCQ: Basigi picks 23 Princesses for Guinea-Bissau trip

Black Princesses coach, Yusif Basigi has released his squad of twenty-three (23) players for Ghana’s first game in the African qualifiers to the 2024 Fifa U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Having benefitted from a fortunate bye in the initial stages, the seasoned campaigners in the U-20 Women’s World Cup have been gearing up for their pursuit of an unprecedented seventh consecutive appearance.

The Black Princesses are now poised to commence their journey against Guinea-Bissau in the second round of the qualification process to Colombia 2024.

The first leg of this matchup will see Ghana play as guests at Estádio 24 de Setembro in Bissau on Sunday, October 8, 2023.

In his final selection for the trip, coach Basigi has placed his trust in several members of the Black Princesses’ squad that won the inaugural Wafu Zone B U-20 Girls’ Cup held in June.

However, the team will have to cope without the leadership of captain Stella Nyamekye and the services of Mafia Nyame, who recently signed with AS FAR in Morocco.

Despite these changes, star players Success Ameyaa and Mary Amponsah will continue to play vital roles in the U-20 setup.

The Black Princesses are set to depart from Accra for Bissau on Friday, October 6.
