Ghana coach Chris Hughton impressed with Fatawu, Sowah in Liberia scalp

Ghana coach Chris Hughton has praised Medeama duo Fatawu Hamidu and Jonathan Sowah who featured for Ghana in the friendlly match against Liberia.

Ghana beat the Lone Stars 3-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium and left-back Fatawu Hamidu was handed a starting role.

Jonathan Sowah was also introduced into the game in the second half.

Speaking after the victory, Chris Hughton made known his content with the performance of the two players.

β€œI’m really impressed by the performance of Fatawu Hamidu and Jonathan Sowah. Especially Sowah, he lifted the team when he came on.

“They are local-based players and they showed there’s quality in the Ghana league.”

Ernest Nuamah, Mohammed Kudus and Jordan Ayew scored for Ghana in the 3-1 triumph over Liberia.

Up next for Ghana, the national team will next month take on Mexico and the USA in two separate international friendly games.
