Berekum Chelsea have re-signed forward Stephen Amankona on a permanent deal from Asante Kotoko, the Golden City Park outfit announced Monday.
The 22-year-old was in the stands as the Bibires beat Dreams FC 1-0 in a Ghana Premier League match-day 14 fixture on Sunday.
Berekum Chelsea confirmed Amankona’s return via their socials:

Amankona joined Kotoko as a headline signing in October 2021. But his time at the club was fraught with challenges, many off-field.
Failing to replicate the form that lured the Porcupine Warriors into signing him, Amankona could only feature in 14 games as they marched on to the 2021/22 league title under coach Prosper Narteh Ogum.
The expectation was that Amankona would develop into the poster boy many envisioned him to become this season under Seydou Zerbo, but the player’s off-field issues saw no end. He managed just 432 minutes in 8 league appearances and scored his debut goal for Kotoko against Nsoatreman FC.
It is understood that in an effort to close Amankona’s return, Berekum Chelsea offered to utilize the remainder of the transfer fee from the 2021 transaction owed them by Kotoko.
