2022/23 Caf CL: Nine new signings as Kotoko name travelling squad for Kadiogo clash

Twenty-two (22) players made the squad as Asante Kotoko headed out of Ghana on a road trip Thursday for their 2022/23 Caf Champions League match against Rail Club du Kadiogo of Burkina Faso.

New coach Seydou Zerbo however included nine of his new signings for the trip. They include goalkeepers Moise Pouaty and Frederick Asare; defenders John Tedeku, Nicholas Osei Bonsu and Sherif Mohammed; midfielders Ernest Osei Poku, Richmond Lamptey and Enock Morrison; and Ugandan forward Steven Mukwala.

Meanwhile, five players – Franck Thierry Etouga Mbella, Sege Zeze Eric, Stephen Amankona and Ricky Dwamena – were left out of the otherwise strong travelling squad.

Kotoko are making a return to continental football after being absent last season.

The Porcupine Warriors start their adventure away to Rail Club du Kadiogo of Burkina Faso.

This first preliminary round opening leg is now confirmed for Stade de l’Amitié Général Mathieu Kérékou in Benin capital Cotonou this Monday, September 12.
