Bechem to decide on Kotoko request for Iddrisu and Osei Kuffour

Asante Kotoko are awaiting response from Bechem United over possible transfer negotiations for Samuel Osei Kuffour and Abdulai Iddrisu.

The Porcupines officially expressed interest in the Hunters duo recently and reports from Bechem say an answer will be provided by the close of the week.

Centre-back Osei Kuffour and goalkeeper Iddrisu produced a stellar performance in the 2021/22 season.

Bechem finished runners up in the FA Cup while placing third in the Ghana Premier League.

Iddrisu recorded 11 clean sheets and Osei played in a three-back defensive line alongside Aaron Essel and Kofi Agbesimah.

Kotoko are in the market for a goalkeeper after failing to replace Razak Abalora when he left midway into last season. They are also faced with the possible departure of former Ghana U-23 fist-choice Kwame Baah who has just a few months left in his contract.

Meanwhile, this week Kotoko loaned out star midfielder Mudasiru Salifu to Sheriff Tiraspol of Moldova.

A couple of player departures are expected as Kotoko look to raise some cash to support their budget for the upcoming 2022/23 season. The club will be competing on three fronts – the Ghana Premier League, FA Cup and the Caf Champions League.
