Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum RESIGNS!

Asante Kotoko head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum has resigned from his role.

Club sources indicate the 44-year-old – who is currently on national team duties with the Black Galaxies – verbally declared his decision in a meeting with the Technical Committee of the Board Wednesday.

Narteh Ogum is believed to have been harbouring misgivings about some issues during his league-winning debut season.

And his disagreements over the club’s preparations for the upcoming 2022/23 campaign further triggered the verbal resignation, sources say.

Associates also claim the coach – who has gone about six months without pay – feels left in the dark over Kotoko’s transfer activities which have seen players like Mudasiru Salifu and Fabio Gama leave and others like Franck Mbella expected to follow suit soon.

Narteh Ogum, at the time of this report, was yet to put his resignation in writing.

He joined the Porcupines on a two-year contract from WAFA SC and led them to the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title.

The tactician was expected to lead the Reds in the 2022/23 Caf Champions League and defend the league title while aiming for the FA Cup

Currently locked up in a meeting, the Asante Kotoko management is yet to publicly comment on the sudden development.
